Real World Employer Projects
Employer Project (EP) / Final Year Project (FYP) / CSR Project are projects carried out with employers that highlight real problems or case studies. Projects are also mapped to course learning outcomes, allowing students to apply the knowledge they learn in the classroom and embark on a problem finding and problem solving process.

The ‘Warehouse Process Optimization’ Employer Project was presented by UH students to Fedex Operation Managers Mr Lee and Mr Danny in 2019. The project required students to analyze and understand warehouse processes and provide recommendations to improve its efficiency. Employers were amazed by the ability of students in capturing the warehouse process and being able to identify process weaknesses promptly despite limited visits to FedEx.?

Business students from INTI International University, under the guidance of senior lecturer Dr Alex Ng Hou Hong, worked with the Seremban Municipal Council on an employer project to promote Seremban as an attractive tourist destination. The students provided posters and videos for social media channels such as Facebook, YouTube and Instagram? to promote various attractions and interesting places in the Seremban area. The mayor of Seremban Municipal Council, YBhg. Dato’ Haji Zazali bin Salehudin was impressed by the presentation and recommendations by students.?

Students took part in a third project with Air Selangor and were given a problem statement to overcome the increased water consumption in SS15, Subang Jaya. This project was especially important as their own campus and many student accommodations were also located there, making them a direct stakeholder in this project. According to Subang Jaya assemblyman YB Michelle Ng: “The students provided solutions to conserve water such as reward systems and campaigns to spread awareness in the neighbourhood and in their own campus. These young minds are put in the driver’s seat to develop new strategies to overcome problems that were always taken for granted, and allowed them to put their minds together to think out of the box.”

Astro brought in 4 of their radio announcers, including JJ & Ean from HitzFM, to kickoff an Employer Project with UH students. The students were asked to come up with new ideas for an upcoming radio programme which Astro will be announcing along with their new radio announcers. 70 students from the Bachelor of Mass Communication and Marketing in collaboration with University of Hertfordshire, UK programme did a survey the preference of youths on radio programmes which they proposed to ASTRO to implement on Hitz FM.

COVID-19 accelerated the transition from office-based work arrangements to work-from-home (WFH). The effectiveness of WFH is still a debate, but companies have survived the past 12 months relying on remote work. However, interaction and communication remains vital to maintain synergy between teams. Students from the Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resources) programme were tasked by Samsung Malaysia Electronic to design a questionnaire for their target market to analyse and provide insights ready for immediate execution.?

TDCX worked with INTI students to implement strategic CSR programs and enhance TDCX branding in efforts to instill a sense of social responsibility among their employees to #BeGreener #BeMore and #Behappier.
